Foam glass (cellular glass) is a new kind of inorganic heat insulating material with a structure of closed cells. It is mainly made of glass powder added with adequate foaming agents, heating and foaming in high-temperature tunnel furnace, then annealing, cooling and cutting. it has stable chemical properties with features of incombustibility, can be used in -268° C to 480° C, vapor impermeability, low thermal conductivity, no water absorption, no aging and long service life, etc. it is praised as “permanent heat insulating material with no need of renewal” .
